News In a landslide win on November 4th, Sen. Barack Obama (D) was elected the 44th president of the United States. Capping one of the best campaigns in recent memory, Obama beat Sen. John McCain by nearly a hundred electoral votes. He won states that had not been won by a Democratic candidate in over four decades.
To say that Obama inherits a country in trouble would be an understatement. The campaign was long and hard, but the real hard work lies ahead. Will Obama restore the Constitution, or will he shuffle along mouthing the same feel-good stuff he trundled in his campaign? Time will tell.

India thrash Australia India won the fourth and final test against Australia by 176 runs at Nagpur, thus making it a 2-0 series win against the reigning world champions. This is a poignant series since many of the top Indian players are expected to retire from test cricket after this series. Among those mentioned in this connection are Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. Anil Kumble has already announced his retirement.
