Copin', Hagglin'
The world's concerned gather in Denmark this week as delegates seek an approach to Global Warming. The concerns are different -- some fear the decisions might not go far enough, others that they might go too far. A leaked Danish document seeking to bypass the UN and leave all power in this matter to the US caused a furore.

India is #1!
India became World #1 in Cricket with a couple of resounding thumps, thrashing visitors Sri Lanka in the three match five-day series. Two successive innings-defeats after a fright from Sri Lanka in the drawn First Test fetched India the honor. Man of the series was Virender Sehwag, scored a 300+ and 287 in the two victories.
The Cloud Still Hangs Over Bhopal
Eight years after 9-11, Bin-Laden still roams free, location unknown, as 30000 more troops join the hunt. But 25 years since the Bhopal disaster, writes author Suketu Mehta (Maximum City), the Interpol is unable to find Chairman of Union Carbide who lives openly in the US. More...

Commander-in-Chief, or Commanded-in-Chief?
On the surface, it was an announcement to boost the number of US troops in Afghanistan. Written a few hours after hearing of SK's death, a tribute by Ravi. V. Prasad, who grew up around SK. More...

Gods that Failed
A myth is a myth. When your grandmother told you that solar eclipse was because Rahu was eating the Sun, you knew she was not entirely serious. A 'scientific' fact is different. Or is it? As Venkat Ramanan shows, not a few theories held sway for considerable periods before they were eventually debunked. More...

Who Moved My Capital?
India's Home Minister P. Chidambaram announced that the government was considering carving out a separate Telengana from the current state of Andhra Pradesh. The decision comes amidst an ongoing fast-unto-death by activist K. Chandrasekhara Rao to demand the same. The decision would mean that Andhra Pradesh needs a new capital. Hyderabad, which currently serves as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, lies in Telengana. Vizag, anyone?

Google Maal?
Google Maps shows Arunachal Pradesh as part of India in its Indian version, as part of China in its Chinese version and as disputed in its US Version. An early example of customized information?
